Our trip to Grodno via the Augustów Canal was one of the highlights of our adventure with a houseboat. We heard a lot about travelling through the belarussian part of the Canal from many people, and were hoping to do the same as soon as possible with our own yacht. A belarussian travel agency helped us to organise everything on the other side of the border and we launched on our journey on 30th of April.

After a long stay in home shipyard of Calipso Yacht, our Swoboda was finally launched in its new home - PTTK Port in Augustów. And as soon as possible we decided to sail. The weather wasn't maybe perfect - not fit to sunbathe on the bow anyways - but still we could have admired nature wakening to life. We sat in a spacious cockpit, drinking hot tea, and whenever such a need - we closed our tent to escape the wind or rain. The houseboat, as we expected, holds very well to its course. It's easy to manoeuvre and stopping at quay or going through locks isn't an issue.

On the 10-13th of March 2016 in Warsaw there was Wind and Water Boat Show. It's one of the biggest events of this kind in our part of Europe. This year it gathered almost 30 thousand viewers. By courtesy of Calipso Yacht, from where we had pleasure of acquiring our houseboat, we could have presented our offer of houseboat charter on the Augustów Canal. Our proposal was met by quite a big interest - we met lots of fascinating people some of whom decided on renting our houseboat straight after the boat show. We hope that both the houseboat and the Augustów Canal area shall meet their expectations of a fulfilling holiday.
